# Global Pipeline Intelligence

Continuous, project-wide telemetry analysis that surfaces pipeline recommendations in the background without opening the pipeline editor.

{% hint style="info" %}
Global Pipeline Intelligence is in private beta. To request access, please fill out this [form here](https://forms.gle/hpJ5d4AAvodwFkGE8).
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Global Pipeline Intelligence is only available for Bindplane Enterprise and Bindplane Enterprise (Google Edition) licenses.
{% endhint %}

Global Pipeline Intelligence automatically analyzes your telemetry data across your entire Bindplane project and surfaces actionable recommendations to optimize your pipelines.

With Global Pipeline Intelligence, you can:

* Detect sensitive data (PII, credentials, secrets) flowing through your pipelines
* Automatically identify unnecessary fields that can be removed to reduce telemetry volume and costs

### Enabling Global Pipeline Intelligence

To enable Global Pipeline Intelligence, navigate to your organization settings within Bindplane.

1. Enable **Global Pipeline Intelligence AI Features**

Once this setting is enabled, Global Pipeline Intelligence will begin analyzing your telemetry data and automatically generate recommendations.

### Recommendations

Global Pipeline Intelligence recommendations appear alongside your existing pipeline intelligence recommendations in Bindplane. Each recommendation includes a description with the reason why it was recommended, as well as a pre-configured processor that is ready to apply to your pipeline.

#### Delete Fields

The Delete Fields recommendation uses an AI model to identify telemetry fields that can be safely removed to reduce data volume and costs. These recommendations target fields like auto-generated instrumentation metadata, development-only fields, constant or duplicated infrastructure metadata, and high-frequency fields that provide minimal observability value. Each recommended field is validated against the sampled data to confirm its removal actually reduces volume.

Each recommendation includes an estimated percentage reduction in data volume and a preconfigured [Delete Fields](/integrations/processors/delete-fields.md) processor.

#### Sensitive Data Detection

Sensitive Data Detection recommendations identify PII and other sensitive information flowing through your telemetry pipeline. Detected types include:

* Credentials and secrets (API keys, passwords, bearer tokens)
* Payment information (credit card numbers, IBANs)
* Personal identifiers (Social Security numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, personal names, dates of birth)
* Network identifiers (IP addresses, MAC addresses)
* Location data (street addresses, city/state, zip codes)
* Business identifiers (customer and account IDs)

Each recommendation includes a [Redact Sensitive Data](/integrations/processors/redact-sensitive-data.md) processor with the appropriate redaction rules or custom regex patterns pre-configured.

### How detection works

Global Pipeline Intelligence detects sensitive data using common patterns like email addresses, Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, and IP addresses. Global Intelligence also detects potentially sensitive data specific to your system, like internal account IDs or custom token formats.

Detection runs on each analysis pass and adapts to the telemetry it sees. If new or previously uncovered sensitive data appears, it surfaces an additional recommendation.

### Best Practices

* Always review recommendations before applying them to production pipelines. While Global Pipeline Intelligence is designed to produce accurate, validated recommendations, it may make mistakes.
* Things to verify:
 * Field paths match your actual data structure
 * Redaction patterns do not inadvertently remove non-sensitive data
 * Processor placement is correct for your pipeline topology

### How your data is used

When Global Pipeline Intelligence is enabled, small data snapshots are collected from across your pipelines and analyzed to generate recommendations. This data is used exclusively to generate recommendations and is never stored unless a recommendation is produced from the snapshot.

If a recommendation is produced, the corresponding snapshot is saved in your Bindplane server and automatically deleted after 7 days. See [Storage and Retention](/feature-guides/data-management/snapshots.md#storage-and-retention) for more information on how snapshots are saved and encrypted.

Global Pipeline Intelligence AI features are off by default. Nothing changes in your environment until an org admin explicitly enables them.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.bindplane.com/feature-guides/pipeline-intelligence/global-pipeline-intelligence.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
